Well what can I say?  This is a little bit about me.

My name is Nick Bellew, I am a 30-year-old male, 5′ 7″ tall weighing around 64 kg.  I wouldn’t call myself a serious runner, I run with a club on Wednesday nights and I run with my girlfriend (Kim) on other nights through the week.  I am a keen footballer and have played competitively since I was 9 years old so my weekends are taken up playing matches for my 2 teams.  Although this prevents me from getting a long run in on a weekend or racing I feel it has given me a good base to improve my running.  Through the day I work as an engineer building special purpose machines for a small company in the North of England and after work, apart from running, I walk my dog (Alfie) and cook.

I started this blog as a motivational exercise.  I enjoy running but in the past I have struggled to stick to a training regime for long periods of time.  This year have given myself a few goals.  One is to complete a marathon in good time (I’m not sure what that is yet), another is to run a half marathon in 1 hr 25 min and the other to do a triathalon, nbrunning is my public record to achieving these goals in 2011.  I would like to use this blog to contact other runners from the runnning community to ask advise, get tips maybe even give out some tips as my experience grows, who knows?
